Frequently Asked Questions
What if I want to take the hire car to another country?
If you want to pick up your car in one country and drop it in another, your search results will show you cars you can do that with.
If you’re planning to cross any borders during your trip, bear in mind:
- You may have to pay more
There are often extra fees, taxes or additional cover you’ll pay at the car hire counter.
- It may not be possible
Depending on where you’re hiring, you may not be able to take your car to another country.
Please contact us if you want to take your hire car into a different country during your trip, and we’ll talk you through your options.
What is the cancellation policy?
- MORE THAN 48 hours before your rental is due to start, you’ll receive a full refund.
- LESS THAN 48 hours before, or while you’re at the rental counter, we’ll refund what you paid minus the cost of 2 days of your rental - so there won’t be any refund if your car was booked for 3 days or less.
- AFTER your rental is due to start (or you just don’t turn up) you’ll receive no refund.
Will I have to pay for anything when I collect my car?
Yes. When you pick up your car, you'll leave a deposit for it.
You'll also pay for any extras you want, such as a charger or baby seat, and for any additional drivers you'd like to add.
There may be other charges, depending on where you're hiring.
What do I need to take to collect the car?
The main driver needs three things (all held in their own name):
- Amount of decided deposit for the car
- Full driving licence, that they’ve held for at least two years
- A valid Passport
Additional drivers will need their full driving licence.
You’ll pay for any additional drivers and extra equipment when you arrive to pick up the car – so it’s worth bearing those costs in mind when thinking about your deposit.
How much will I leave as a deposit at the counter?
You'll leave a deposit at the counter to cover any damage or traffic fines. The amount you'll pay is decided when you we or you contacted us.
Can I hire a car if I am under 30 years old?
Yes. If you are between 21 to 70 years old and have had your full driving licence for two years, you can rent from most car hire companies.
Unfortunately few companies will rent cars to drivers under 21, but we can not due to our policy.
What is a fuel policy?
The fuel policy for your rental explains how you will pay for fuel for your hire car, and whether you need to visit a petrol station before you return the car.
You can see each car’s fuel policy clearly by its description. Most cars come with a 'Like for like' fuel policy, which is the best value option - before you return the car, just replace the fuel you've used and you'll pay no fuel charges at all. Most likely we will give you the car with the full tank.
What is a Collision Damage Waiver or CDW?
When collecting the vehicle you will be required to leave a deposit to the value of any insurance excess which may be charged by our car rental partner if the car is damaged during the rental. The maximum excess will be shown in the terms & conditions during the booking process.
We have full insurance for all of our cars. If there is any kind of incident or accident or any problem with the vehicle, please contact us and do not move the car from its spot until further notice.
What insurances does my rental car have?
All of our cars are with full insurance. For further details please contact us.
Why do I need to sign a rental agreement at the counter?
When collecting the vehicle the principal driver will need to bring their full driving license and passport with the main drivers name.
